Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the BSM do?

The Baptist Student Ministry is a Christian organization at the southern Dallas-area colleges (UNT Dallas, Cedar Valley, & Paul Quinn). Our mission is to tell students the Good News of Jesus Christ and equip them to share it with others.

We have a variety of events of activities and events both on and off campus. These include free lunches, small group gatherings, retreats, community service, and mission trips!

  • Do I have to be Baptist to join BSM?

No. BSM is not just for Baptists, but for all active college students. We have the word “Baptist” in our name because our organization is sponsored by Baptists.

Many students who are active in the BSM belong to different churches and/or denominations. Christian or not, we would love to have you get involved.

  • Is BSM a church?

No, we are not a church. We are an outreach extension of local-area churches. We encourage students to get involved with local churches.

  • How do I get involved?

Come to our events, join a U-Group, and go on a BSM trip. There are so many ways to plug into our community!
